Vibeł in Basildon
Thursday 14th May 2009: Launch of Damien Robinson & Stuart Bowditch's interactive installation at the Basildon Centre (Foyer area) St. Martin's Square, Basildon until Sunday 17 May 2009.
Visitors and staff at the Basildon Centre experience new sounds as they walked into the building. One staff member remarked that "It changes the space and animates it in a new and different way."
There is a faint sound of church bells at bell ringing practice, ticking clocks, and someone encouraging a new swimmer in the swimming pool. The Vibeł allows a new way of hearing and feeling sounds. The sound of vibrations of a train are intensified. You can feel the vibrations of these sounds through your fingertips.
